Video Chief Task List

Welcome to your Task List! The Sudbury Savoyards Task Lists are designed to be used as a guideline for how you can successfully complete your job in the current production. The task list is divided into five sections: In order to keep this task list current and helpful, please edit it as you see fit. You will be asked to turn in your marked-up copy at the Debriefing Meeting. You can also send any changes electronically by clicking here or the link at the top of this page.

General Information

The Video Chief arranges to videotape the production, either by recruiting a crew or by hiring a professional videographer to produce, edit, reproduce and distribute the video. The Video Chief works with the Sound Liaison to arrange for a sound feed for the video, works with the Stage Director to storyboard the video production, and receives a list of members who purchased videotapes from the Internal Sales Chief.
The Video Chief is part of the production staff and as such, reports to the Producer.

Open Bidding to Contractors

Decide whether to produce the video with volunteers or by hiring a commercial contractor. If there is to be a paid videography staff, for taping and/or tape duplicating, begin the search now. Considerations:

1) The Sudbury local community access facility is located in the high school. This is a source of equipment and expertise. By law it is available to residents of the town. There may be an active local volunteer organization to provide some of the crew.
2) A video production crew must be recruited by mid-January.
3) Additional equipment may need to be rented or borrowed. Note that the Sudbury Savoyards now owns some used video equipment: check to make sure it still works well before depending on it.
4) Any video director (inside or outside) should be prepared to conform to the Stage Director's artistic decisions.
